EOU graduates can research, analyze and communicate across a broad spectrum of situations and express themselves effectively to a varied audience. The key is the flexibility of a creative mind paired with skills that will never lose currency.
The Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in English/Writing, the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, and the minors in English/Writing or Interdisciplinary Writing and Rhetoric provide coursework in literature, rhetoric, and creative writing, preparing students to be critical, creative thinkers and effective communicators.

“My time in the MFA program at EOU was the one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences for me as a writer. Working with my professors and classmates helped me gain confidence in my work and submit it for publication. Now, as a doctoral student in creative writing, I’m able to draw upon the extensive foundation of genres and writing styles I encountered at EOU. Today I participate in readings in my local literary community and my school’s literary magazine. In all, EOU’s beautiful atmosphere and its knowledgeable and talented faculty are truly inspiring.”
